a glimmer into the life of a mum who loves fashion, decor and prosecco

My "A to B" Beauty

My "beauty" regimen (if you can even call it that) has always been pretty low-key; think Burt's Bees Lip Balm, powder, mascara, deodorant, perfume, ponytail and out the door . . . . . but even that became streamlined after I had Emerson. Mornings usually consist of me trying desperately to make it to the kitchen to get a few drops of coffee while being intercepted (lots of football in my home) at least 5 times by a little running back who wants everything from "mama draw papa" to "mama poo poo diaper" to "E..L..M..O, plees" . . . . Needless to say here are some things that keep me looking semi-presentable, and somewhat pulled together.

Tigi Rockaholic Dry Shampoo  - OMG this stuff is my savior and it smells divine!!! I have very long hair that needs to be either left to dry naturally (which can literally take a full day) or blown out AND straightened or curled . . .  so to say I do it even at least once a year is a far stretch (aka ponytail)!  But with this stuff, when I do my hair, I can have pretty hair for a few days without looking greasy or disheveled.  A must try for mums!

Sally Hansen Instant Nail Finish - This is the perfect instant-drying natural shine nail polish that is small enough to throw in your purse or pocket, and can help you pull together a quick "yes-I-am-a-classy-refined-got-it-together-effortless-chic-mum" look. And it seriously dries in a flash!

Olay Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 - Delicious "light" moisturizer with SPF 30.  It has aloe, Vitamin E and green tea extract to help replenish your skin.  I have been using this for 5 years and I love it, I cannot stand anything greasy on my face and hate when I have to wait 30 minutes to put my powder on.  This you can apply and literally a minute later you can put on your powder!

Manicure Hand Scrub - All I can say is WOW!!! This stuff will literally make your hands feel as soft and velvety as your little ones bum!  Since I can barely keep a manicure/pedicure appointment with any sort of regularity (it usually goes like this: once every two weeks, then skip a month, then oh-crap-i have-a-party-to-go-to-last-minute manicure) this scrub is a little slice of heaven because you can do it anytime, anywhere - keep it in your purse or your shower or even you work desk.

La Mer - I have been using this creme for the past 6years and while it is a major splurge for any beauty item ($135) it is a total face saver!  I literally use it every other night, mainly to make it last longer but also because it is so incredibly thick that my skin can't take it every night.  Some nights I just put it around my eyes, lips and on my forehead to combat those, you know . . . "imminent-if-not-already-there" wrinkles!

Contact lens case - I received one of these as a gift a few years ago (not this one exactly) and it is great to put at the side of your bed if you are lazy, ahem tired, like me and hate getting back out of my cozy, warm bed to go into my bathroom and take out my CL's.  This makes it easy because it has the little pod for your contacts, a little container for your saline and a mirror.  Pop your CL's out, get your 40 winks, wake up and pop them back in all while still noodled up in your bed and PJ's.  And these are cute because you can personalize it....love the pink and gold!

  1. I'm not sure about some of that other stuff...but the Tigi Rockaholic sounds AMAZING! Are you telling me that there's a way that I could limit my weekly showers to only ONE now? Wow, I love technology! Love the blog & love you wee one.

  2. Hmmm. Maybe you're selling me on La Mer.... It does seem so pricey.

Thank you for your comments, I truly appreciate it! Have a fabulous day. xoxo E
